About Dingleton Apartments

Dingleton, Glentress and Chiefswood is a large estate of apartments created from the old Dingleton Hospital. We are half a mile from the centre of Melrose nestled in a 10 acre site surrounded by woodland. Each apartment is unique both in size and layout.

The attractive and well maintained grounds are common to all residents who can move freely around the gardens and pathways. We ask all residents to be mindful of other residents and pay particular attention to the privacy of comfort of others, especially those in ground floor apartments immediately alongside the footpaths.

River Tweed in Melrose

Melrose was recently voted the best place to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times. The town itself offers a wide range of independent shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Melrose is famous for its Abbey, being the birthplace of Rugby 7s and wonderful walks on the River Tweed. Nearby is Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott.

In the town there is a very active Rugby club, home to the famous Melrose 7s, a Golf club, trout and salmon fishing on the Tweed and easy access to walks in the Eildon Hills. The recently reopened Border’s Railway gives fast and convenient access to Edinburgh city.

More information about the town and its surroundings is available at Melrose Tourist Information.
