We hope this newsletter finds you and your families safe and well. The past eighteen months have been difficult for everyone, but we would like to thank our NHS staff and front-line workers for the amazing work they continue to do during these uncertain times.
Due to the ongoing concerns with Covid 19, social distancing and the wearing of masks, it has been decided that the AGM will be postponed until the Spring. Unfortunately, this will also affect the popular Christmas ’drinks and nibbles’ evening which is cancelled for this year. As soon as weather permits, we will hold an event outside in the fresh air.
Due to the increase in the cost of electricity, materials, services and contractors’ charges, under discussion is the possibility that it wit) be necessary to raise the management charge following the AGM.
Please BREAK DOWN cardboard boxes, place polystyrene in household bins. Glass should be taken for recycling to Melrose or Langlee. Always put bin bags into the bins, left on the floor or the tops of bins encourages the wildlife to scavenge, creating mess and polluting the environment.
The snow plough is on site, and we will be ordering in more salt for the grit bins, please use sparingly. David (gardener) will be clearing snow from the carparks and road. We aim to do paths whenever time allows but we cannot cover the entire site! Please help if you are able!
We are starting a programme of painting the communal entrances and hallways. This will start in the New Year. We are 3tarting with the worst first and the work is limited due to a tight budget. We are also replacing carpets that are badly stained or worn.
In those areas that have break glass and fire alarms the system has now been upgraded and is managed by Safe Services who are contracted to conduct regular checks to the system. If the alarm rings, once you have confirmed there is no risk you can reset the system by following in the power room.
Please use the book exchange library in the entrance of 81— 87 (ramp in rear car park). There is a large variety of books donated by residents

On behalf of the residents of the community we would like to say a big thank you to the Management Team for all their hard work over the last year. We’re hoping that we will all be able to get together before too long.
